A few days ago I had the privilege of attending a meeting at the emblematic and famous Tropicana Tourist Center, located in the capital municipality of Marianao, here in Cuba, which has a great international recognition. The meeting was specifically in the Arcos de Cristal Room. I arrived a little early, which allowed me to enjoy a tour of this magical place in the company of one of my colleagues, who kindly offered to accompany me to explore it. It was quite an adventure!

Hace unos días tuve el privilegio de asistir a una reunión en el emblemático y famoso Centro Turístico Tropicana, ubicado en el municipio capitalino de Marianao, aquí en Cuba, el cual cuenta con un gran reconocimiento internacional. La reunión fue específicamente en el Salón Arcos de Cristal. Llegué un poco antes, lo que me permitió disfrutar de un recorrido por este mágico lugar en compañía de uno de mis colegas, quien amablemente se ofreció a acompañarme a explorarlo. ¡Fue toda una aventura!
From the very first moment I was captivated by the beauty that surrounds this place, which attracts countless tourists from all over the world. Although on this occasion I was not able to witness the famous high quality shows for which it is known, the exteriors of the center are simply breathtaking.
Desde el primer momento me cautivó la belleza que rodea este lugar, que atrae a innumerables turistas de todo el mundo. Aunque en esta ocasión no pude presenciar los famosos espectáculos de alta calidad por los que es conocido, los exteriores del centro son sencillamente impresionantes.
The fusion between the lush vegetation and the architecture of the place is simply fascinating. From the moment one crosses the majestic entrance arch, a landscape of lush greenery unfolds before our eyes, adorned with ornamental statues that catch the eye. It is a perfect combination that immerses us in a world of beauty and serenity.
La fusión entre la exuberante vegetación y la arquitectura del lugar es sencillamente fascinante. Desde el momento en que uno cruza el majestuoso arco de entrada, se despliega ante nuestros ojos un paisaje de exuberante vegetación, adornado con estatuas ornamentales que llaman la atención. Es una combinación perfecta que nos sumerge en un mundo de belleza y serenidad.
At the heart of this paradise is a splendid round fountain known as the Fountain of the Muses, where several circular statues hold hands in eternal solidarity. The surrounding vegetation is lush and exquisitely manicured. In addition, I cannot fail to mention a smaller fountain, in the center of which stands a charming dancer. As I peered into the pond, I could admire the vibrantly colored Chinese carp swimming in the water.
En el corazón de este paraíso se encuentra una espléndida fuente redonda conocida como la Fuente de las Musas, donde varias estatuas circulares se dan la mano en eterna solidaridad. La vegetación que la rodea es exuberante y está exquisitamente cuidada. Además, no puedo dejar de mencionar una fuente más pequeña, en cuyo centro destaca una encantadora bailarina. Al asomarme al estanque, pude admirar las carpas chinas de vibrantes colores que nadan en el agua.
Directly in front of the fountain is the Los Jardines cafeteria, whose design blends perfectly with the surrounding nature, creating a truly charming atmosphere, and as I looked inside I was fascinated by the design, with transparent ceilings.
Justo enfrente a la fuente se encuentra la cafetería Los Jardines, cuyo diseño combina a la perfección con la naturaleza que la rodea, creando un ambiente realmente encantador, al observar al interior quedé fascinada con el diseño, con techos transparentes.
Throughout the place you can see representations of dancers, since in this magical corner dance and its explosive choreographies of Cuban folklore are the center of attention. The diverse rhythms and colors, combined with the grace and elegance of Cuban dancers, have captivated the eyes of the whole world to this unique place.
Por todo el lugar se pueden apreciar representaciones de bailarines, ya que en este mágico rincón la danza y sus explosivas coreografías del folclore cubano son el centro de atención. Los diversos ritmos y colores, combinados con la gracia y elegancia de los bailarines cubanos, han cautivado las miradas del mundo entero hacia este lugar único.
To get to the hall where the meeting was held, I went through a large hall covered with mirrors, where the dazzling costumes that the dancers use in their shows are displayed. I took the opportunity to immortalize the moment and photographed myself next to the emblematic sculpture of the ballerina that represents this prestigious facility, a masterpiece created by the talented Cuban artist Rita Longa.
Para llegar a la sala donde se celebraba el encuentro, atravesé un gran vestíbulo cubierto de espejos, donde se exhiben los deslumbrantes trajes que los bailarines utilizan en sus espectáculos. Aproveché para inmortalizar el momento y me fotografié junto a la emblemática escultura de la bailarina que representa a esta prestigiosa instalación, una obra maestra creada por la talentosa artista cubana Rita Longa.
The room where our meeting was held comes alive at night, transforming into one of the famous indoor cabarets known as Arcos de Cristal. Its ceiling, composed of an exquisite combination of intertwined arches and crystals, creates a magical and cozy atmosphere. This roofed and air-conditioned space has enchanting beds of greenery, and from inside through the glass one can observe the surroundings, as I could see from almost everywhere in the place.
La sala donde se celebró nuestra reunión cobra vida por las noches, transformándose en uno de los famosos cabarets cubiertos conocidos como Arcos de Cristal. Su techo, compuesto por una exquisita combinación de arcos entrelazados y cristales, crea un ambiente mágico y acogedor. Este espacio techado y climatizado cuenta con encantadores canteros de vegetación, y desde el interior a través de los cristales se puede observar el entorno, como pude comprobar desde casi todas partes del lugar.
On the way out, I caught a glimpse of the famous open-air cabaret, where, according to visitors, the most dazzling shows are held, reflecting on the top the date of foundation of this emblematic center, 1939, that is, 84 years ago.
A la salida, vislumbré el famoso cabaret al aire libre, donde, según los visitantes, se celebran los espectáculos más deslumbrantes, refleja en lo alto la fecha de fundación de este emblemático centro, 1939, es decir, hace 84 años.
I was in awe of all that I witnessed during this pleasant encounter. I was delighted to see how the architectural design of the place respects the natural growth of the vegetation, thus creating a unique and enchanting environment. I was totally captivated and I was eager to attend one of the shows offered here. Is it not the same for you?
