A Reflection That Looks Like a Window
Un reflejo que parece una ventana
At the hotel where I work, there is a small plaza with a fountain in the center. Around it are corridors with large glass windows belonging to different restaurants: Japanese, French, Italian and others. These glass surfaces often reflect the plaza and its fountain, creating interesting scenes.
En el hotel donde trabajo hay una pequeña plaza con una fuente en el centro. Alrededor de ella hay pasillos con grandes cristales pertenecientes a diferentes restaurantes: japonés, francés, italiano y otros. Estas superficies de cristal suelen reflejar la plaza y su fuente, creando escenas interesantes.
But this time, the reflection really surprised me. When I took the photograph, it almost looked as if I were looking through the glass at the plaza and the fountain on the other side. In reality, everything in the image was a reflection on the glass.
Pero esta vez, el reflejo realmente me sorprendió. Cuando hice la fotografía, parecía casi que estaba mirando a través del cristal hacia la plaza y la fuente que se encontraban al otro lado. En realidad, todo lo que aparece en la imagen era un reflejo sobre el cristal.
I like these kinds of reflections because they can make us doubt what we are actually seeing. Sometimes a simple glass surface is enough to create an image that looks like another space, when it is only the world around us reflected in a different way.
Me gustan este tipo de reflejos porque pueden hacernos dudar de lo que realmente estamos viendo. A veces una simple superficie de cristal es suficiente para crear una imagen que parece pertenecer a otro espacio, cuando en realidad no es más que el mundo que nos rodea reflejado de una manera diferente.
