Sunset by the beach of Rhodes

Sometimes things are a bit random, like me staying a few days on Rhodos, with some old Nikon gear!

What can I make out of an old Nikon D700, a memory card with no space for raw files, a very old 35-105 manual zoom & a 16mm fisheye? Lets find out 馃檪

Old defensive turret & newish resort

I definitely did not fit in with the resort people, still wearing my worn out clothes from roaming around Asia & really not belonging to the tourist scene! Fortunately there were lots of things like this to explore.

A local bank?

Playing around with the fisheye, not something I am really used to... At least round objects are not distorted haha!

Local cat number 1

This cat got really curious about what I was doing & walked up very close to the camera, really checking me out. Even with the fisheye it turned into a sort of portrait.

Local cat number 2

They were all both very lazy but also a bit jumpy, guess they have bad experiences with drunk tourists... But they were all well fed.

Cat silhouette against the fort

This one was playing around with some flowers or insects I think? Either way it was having a good time, and made for a nice silhouette against the fort.

Editing & so on

Part of this is also that the randomness let me use a Photoshop installation for the first time in a few years. Since around 2020 I or even earlier I have tried getting rid of that dependency, using a mix of Linux & mobile apps and tools.

But its not easy, especially since I first started using Photoshop in maybe 1996 I think it was?

That's it for now! Rhodes will probably turn into 2-3 posts after this, then a few for the rest of the days in Greece 馃檪 #Monomad
