This series of photographs that I am submitting to the #monomad contest seeks not merely to show spaces or objects, but to evoke sensations and inspire interpretations. Because sometimes it is in the darkness that we best learn to recognize the light.
For light to exist and reveal itself, it needs shadow. Here, shadow is not merely the negation of light; it is its complement and its condition.
Between the two, a narrative of contrasts unfolds, where absence takes shape and presence manifests itself through that which remains hidden. Light functions simultaneously as visual material, photographic language, and a metaphor for presence.
There is also a reflection on the very essence of photography. After all, taking a photograph is, in a way, writing with light. It is capturing a moment when light strikes a surface, draws a shape, and preserves what, without the camera, might remain imperceptible.
