We all played a rather difficult course with a lot of wooded holes. It was a close match, and I came in second. The scores were: +26, +29, +31, and +34.
It was really fun playing with everyone today. The weather was a bit warm for around here, and some of us played without our coats. The wind picked up a bit, and there was some gentle rain at times.
As usual, I missed around three putts that I really should have been able to hit. When I am just by myself and there is no pressure, I can usually hit putts from this distance. There was just enough wind today to make me feel a bit uneasy at times. It doesn't take much for me to have a bad putting day, and I know I need to spend more practice at it.
A view of the forest to the right of the fairway on a difficult hole that we played today:
You don't want to throw a disc into the forest or the bushes on the edge of the fairway. You also don't want to drift too far to the left on a backhand throw because of the out of bounds line. It is difficult to get enough distance off the tee to clear the rough area without turning over a disc and having it drift into the forest.
You can also see where a large tree was snapped in half during one of the recent storms. I don't remember seeing the tree before, but I am usually searching the ground near the bushes for my disc. Today, I managed to place my throw in a much better place on the fairway.
