I was going to take it easy again today but ended up doing a couple of nine-basket practice rounds and a bunch of putting practice. I have a big tournament over the weedend that I am practicing for.
I had to try the new blue D4 Air disc and my new Watt disc out. On my initial impression, the blue D4 Air seems less stable than my older red D4 Air. It is a couple of grams lighter, but I'm not sure if that would make much of a difference.
I like a lighter disc for throwing uphill, but a new plastic disc is sometimes inconsistent for me. I threw it today downhill into a left to right headwind, and it turned too much and went into the road.
The road was not too busy, so I started walking down to get it, but when I was about halfway there, a car started down the road. I started running down the hill to get to the disc, but the car went faster than the speed limit and beat me there. I waved at him to try to slow him down since running into the street at that point was not an option. The car just kept right on going and missed running over my disc by about a half and inch.
I will need to throw the blue disc more, but for now, the red disc is flying better for me.
I tried out the Watt disc, too. I am used to more stability in a throwing putter, and it was not going where I wanted and ended up right of the basket on longer throws. For shorter inside the circle putts, it worked fine, but I would rather have a different plastic for this purpose. It might end up bumping the Glitch out of the bag since I think that they would be used in a similar situation. I need to throw it a lot more to see which disc I like better.
