We are humans, and we have our likes and dislikes. I don't think that anyone is perfect, and that's why we have to continue to manage ourselves in the best way possible so that humanity will keep moving. For me, there are some things that I dislike experiencing with people or seeing people do them at all.
The first one is infidelity in marriage. Of the things that I dislike with passion, this ranks among the top of the list. I take infidelity as a criminal act. The reason is that when the consequences degenerate fully, it most often leads to death.
If you like a food that is not yours and you are stealing it, you would want to have it to yourself so that you don't experience any stress before having access to it. In many extreme cases, you may need to eliminate the owner of the food, which is, in this case, the wife or the husband, as the case may be, from the equation. Elimination may refer to killing or putting asunder into the marriage.
The trend of paternity fraud is on the rise. It is painful to wake up as a man one day and be told through DNA that your children are not yours. The pain is deep. I have seen some instances where some people are trying to give one reason or another that can be responsible for infidelity, but for me, the act is unjustifiable. Whatever the case may be, taking the painful but dignified path of divorce in the face of irreconcilable differences is far better than remaining a couple while either party does what he or she likes. There is no justification for infidelity in a marriage.
The second thing that I dislike is when someone is violent in nature. I have seen many people who detest dialogue. Whether at home or in public, some people prefer to address any problem with a violent disposition. I am a firm believer in dialogue. Whether someone is known to me or a total stranger, I believe that whatever misunderstanding we have can be trashed out by dialogue. When I say violence, I am not mainly referring to physical fights. It includes talking to one another in an uncultured manner.
It is very common these days to see someone abusing another person on social media about an issue that could be addressed amicably. In many of these cases, you would see a young person hiding behind a keypad to disrespect an older person. It is something I seriously dislike.
Even at the family level, domestic violence is on the rise because the spirit of dialogue is not in existence. I dislike it when the first option for someone to consider in addressing a misunderstanding is violence of any form. Violence scatters while peace and dialogue build.
Lastly, for the course of this prompt, I dislike pride. Some people make use of every opportunity they have to look down on others. I have seen some people ask others, "Do you know who I am?" This statement is mostly used to show pride. The truth is that whoever you are, there are people ahead of you, just like we have others below.
People with pride want to be the center of attention everywhere they are. They don't like it when other people shine where they are. I like it when someone lives a quiet life. A kind of life where, when others realize who you are, they will open their mouths in surprise. It is good to be humble.
In all of these, I manage whatever I can manage and do away with the one that I can't manage. If I have a friend engaging in infidelity, I will talk you into changing your habits. If you refuse to change, that's all with the relationship. As for a violent person, I can't cope for a second. Once I realize that you detest addressing issues with dialogue, I will find a way to keep a distance.
Everyone has a right to their way of life, and I have my own right to react the way that pleases me.
