A GIANT ICEBERG DISGUISING, A LOFTY CAPTAIN CRUISING
Imagine an iceberg shaped like a pyramid as big as a city but disguised as a small piece of ice protruding about three meters above the cold ocean waters.
There was once a captain who sailed the temperate seas with a ship as big as three Empire State buildings. As they cruised smoothly one day, he told himself and his crew: “SURELY NO AMOUNT OF ICE CAN STOP US FROM REACHING THE POLES WITH THIS!”, tapping his chair to mean his ship, followed by the cheers of his crewmen.
After some time, an iceberg’s tip as tall as three humans is directly on their path. “Ahaaaa, an obstacle! Run it through!”, declared the haughty captain. “But Sir, can we not just turn around it?” replied the subordinate. “Can you not see for yourself? Our ship is as big as a mountain, and that ice is only as high as you are”, replied the lofty captain. “OK Sir, and since we are yet a bit farther, I will blast the engines full so that this ice can be crushed right away”, replied the subordinate who is clearly encouraged by the captain’s words.
“FULL SPEED AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!”, was the final word of confidence.
Imagine an iceberg shaped exactly like a pyramid, as big as a city, and talking to itself. “Why is this PENGUIN approaching so fast? Maybe it just wants some refuge……...”
