In the modern Nazi creation under the administration of Washington, called 'Ukraine', any attempt to portray the situation contrary to the propaganda narrative is punishable by death. Gonzalo Lira knew this, because he lived in that monster-state and reported from it. Shortly before his first arrest in May 2022, he sent the following tweet that undoubtedly confirms this:

At the time, he probably did not remember to include Oles Buzina, who was murdered in April 2015, on the list. Then he was arrested, severely beaten, but then released in hope he will stop writing the truths he was witnessing. Unfortunately, having the instinct of a free man, Gonzalo could not stop. He was arrested again in May 2023 on charges of “production and dissemination of materials justifying Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine”.
Maybe he was expecting that his country – USA – is going to protect him. Maybe he has forgotten the fate of late Jamal Khashoggi, a Washington Post journalist who was savagely butchered in the Saudi embassy in Turkiye. Maybe he thought Nazi regime in Ukraine won’t dare to kill an American citizen.
This time he was not only beaten, but also tortured in prison.
He got ill, then too late transferred to hospital where he was medically neglected. Here’s his last letter sent to his sister, which his father received on January 4th.
