Hello my Steemians! What a beautiful day it is here on my piece of the planet, I hope its lovely on your slice as well. Today is the 11th day of the yoga challenge, I can't believe that much time has passed! I have just discovered a wonderful drink originating from Zen Buddhist monks that I have been using to help motivate me while I am sore and sleepy in the mornings for me daily practice.

Matcha Green Tea.

What is Matcha?

Matcha is a very finely ground powder of a specially grown and processed green tea leaves. There are a few things that make this tea very special.

The way is it grown and processed is unique. Three weeks before the green tea plant Camellia sinensis is harvested they shade the plants dramatically reducing the amount of sunlight. This stimulates the plants to start producing much higher levels of theanine and caffeine. When ingested these chemicals paired stimulate the mind, help to focus and relax as well. It is a remarkable drink and the perfect thing to give me that little boost to get on the mat these cold, dark mornings. I find I can more easily get into my workout and stay focused and energetic the whole time, and relaxed with an uplifted mood.

How to make Matcha.

One.

Scoop out 1/4 to 1/2 a teaspoon of matcha powder.

Two.

Whisk or stir in water or milk. Whisking makes a nice foam. I have been putting it into the blender with some coconut butter and hot water. So good!

Three.

Enjoy! And get stuff done joyfully! Do #yogachallenge, meditate, play!

#yogachallenge update.

As_I_explore_the_wilderness_of_my_own_body_I_see_that_I_am_mad.jpg

I am still sore and a bit weak, but everyday I am getting stronger and more flexible.

I love doing yoga at home so much more than a class! Who knew? I have been enjoying yoga with socks on, something I wouldn't do in a studio, but it has been cold out! I like it. Also at home your yoga teacher has a pause button, so you can stay in the stretch longer, get a drink or just have a moment to rest. Truly at your own pace.

I am grateful for #yogachallenge for getting me out and doing yoga in the cold mornings, for eating better and making each day more positive and intentional.

It is not too late to join us! It feels good to make positive change as a community! Thanks you for sharing this experience with me.

Thank you for reading my blog, if you liked this post lets be friends and follow me.

Big Love.

Ren
