After @stepko had woken up again, we set to work on the next picture. First I painted @stepko with fire, then I painted the red lines on the ground and in the last one I lit the bridge with the Emisar D4K. Doesn't sound so difficult, does it? However, I had my difficulties with the red lines. I painted them directly on the asphalt with a 660 nm torch. Since I was a bit out of practice, I lost my orientation a bit. The lines on the ground were not where they were supposed to be. So we had to repeat the picture a few times.
Nach dem @stepko wieder aufgewacht war, machten wir uns an das nächste Bild. Zuerst malte ich @stepko mit Feuer an, dann malte ich die roten Linien auf dem Boden und im letzten beleuchtete ich die Brücke mit der Emisar D4K. Klingt nicht so schwierig, oder? Mit den roten Linien hatte ich allerdings so meine Schwierigkeiten. Diese habe ich mit einer 660 nm Taschenlampe direkt auf den Asphalt gemalt. Da ich etwas aus der Übung war, verlor ich etwas die Orientierung. Die Linien auf dem Boden waren nicht da, wo sie sein sollten. Wir mussten also das Bild einige Male wiederholen.
Don't worry, @stepko got through it without any burns. The fire was not a real fire. I had used a pink fibreglass brush with an orange Convoy S2+ to paint the fire. That is the best variant for me so far. Real fire usually doesn't look good. The amount of blue light is often too high. It also burns out quickly. Keine Angst, @stepko hat das ohne Brandverletzungen überstanden. Das Feuer war kein echtes Feuer. Ich hatte einen rosa Glasfaserpinsel mit einer orangen Convoy S2+ verwendet um das Feuer zu malen. Das ist für mich bisher die beste Variante. Echtes Feuer sieht meistens nicht gut aus. Der Anteil blauen Lichts ist oftmals zu hoch. Außerdem brennt das schnell aus. Der geschätzte Kollege @candelart hat vor einigen Tagen einen Beitrag gepostet in dem er noch andere Möglichkeiten zum Malen von Feuer vorstellt. Diesen findest Du hier:

Now that the picture was finally on the memory card after a few attempts, we had earned a break. After the break, we continued. In the meantime, the moon illuminated the landscape quite brightly. Actually, this is disturbing in light painting, but you can take it as a feature if it cannot be changed.
Nachdem das Bild nach einigen Versuchen nun endlich auf der Speicherkarte war, hatten wir uns eine Pause verdient. Nach der Pause ging es dann weiter. Mittlerweile beleuchtete der Mond die Landschaft recht hell. Eigentlich stört das beim Light Painting, aber man kann das auch als Feature nehmen, wenn es sich nun mal nicht ändern lässt.

Hier habe ich gar nicht mehr mit der Taschenlampe nachhelfen müssen. Die Brücke wurde ausschließlich vom Mondlicht beleuchtet.
WHAT IS LIGHT PAINTING?
Light painting is a unique form of art. The darkness is illuminate by the artist with diverse light sources and light traces are paint into the picture with various light tools. Various techniques are use, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during the exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. All the pictures were taken during one single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cutting and possibly adjusting the white balance, the pictures are not processed on the computer.
