Majority of the people will consider a person wealthy if he has a mansion situated on an exclusive village, if he owns an island or very huge parcel of lands, if he drives different cars everyday. Those are what people wants to see in you so that you can be considered a wealthy person.
But for me, a wealthy person is someone who is contented with what he have. Even if you walk to work, as long as you are contented with it, then you are a wealthy person. If you live in a shanty but is contented with your situation, then you are a wealthy person. If you are healthy, you are free from any ailment and you don't take maintenance medicines, then you can be a wealthy person. Even with the littlest thing you have but you are contented with it, then you can consider yourself wealthy.
However, even if you own all the riches in the world but is not contented yet, then you are the poorest of the poor. Take for example the story of King Midas who is not contented with his wealth but instead, asked for more. He wished that everything he touches will turn into gold. Indeed, it came true. He may have tons of gold but he died hungry because all the food he touches turn to gold before it even touches his mouth.
Therefore, if you are contented with what you have, you are a wealthy person because you won't be asking for more. You will feel happy when you are given more than what you asked.
On the other hand, if you are not contented even if you have more than what you need, then you are a poor person because you will still ask for more. You will be dismayed when you are given less than what you asked for.
Before I end this, I want to share a story which I read somewhere but I forgot where it was so whoever owns this, the credit goes to you.
There was once a wealthy man who wants to show his son how wealthy they are. He took him for a walk in the slums. Afterwards, when they were heading home, the father asked his son what he wants to say. The father expects his son to tell him that they are very wealthy and those living in the slums are very poor. However, the father was shocked with what his son said:
" The people here are very rich. We buy food, they grow theirs. We have a dog, they have four. We have electricity to brighten our nights, they have stars. We have very high walls to protect us, they have friends. Thank you father for making me realize how poor we are."
