Hello Steemit! 💋
I wanted to share an experience with you I had on Friday night, I have had similar things happen a few times before and although I'm not sure if it really 'means' anything, I still take comfort from it which to me is important.
Monday 14th May was a very sad day for our household as we lost one of our beloved dogs early hours of the morning. Max was very old and sadly fell asleep, we knew this was coming, however even when you think you have prepared yourself for a loss you know is coming, you can never (in my opinion) feel prepared, only acceptance (and that's begrudgingly).
I have NEVER been good at showing when I am upset, if I am happy, angry, tired or anything else then fine, I can show it, but sadness... I can't do it. I've always had to be alone when I need to cry or express myself in 'that way'. I can probably count on one hand the times my emotions have overridden my mind and have had no choice other than to be an exposed snotty mess! (not a good look lol). I haven't cried over the loss of Max, however I do of course feel a great deal of sadness and the house feels quiet without him. I feel like I have had my own personal goodbyes with him on some level after what happened just this Friday (18th May).

I got home from work Friday night around 21:20, made a cup of tea and took it to bed (quite often do this). I usually put the t.v on to watch a series or something (am re watching '13 Reasons Why' at the moment as they've released the next season on Netflix! - WOW what a series...!) however I just couldn't keep my eyes open, it had been a hectic shift and I was exhausted. I work in a nursing home so some days can get quite heavy. Anyway, I finished my tea, checked out a few things on my phone (CoinCap being one of them haha!) and went to sleep.

As far as I can remember I had a good nights sleep and didn't wake at all (novelty!). The morning soon came and I was up getting ready for work again, I was busy brushing my teeth and from nowhere I had this big realisation that I had a dream. I don't always remember my dreams when I wake straight away, it can take a few minutes or more for me to actually remember, and when I do it's like I am sitting in the audience of my own short movie lol, and a nice one it was too.

In my dream I was walking through a very misty yet exceptionally bright field. The grass was long with an eligant sway to it from the breeze of the trees. I didn't feel cold, I didn't even see myself, it was me looking ahead at what was infront of me. It was beautiful wherever I was. I remember looking up and seeing a white fluffy dog running happily with its tongue out enjoying the wide open space. The dog came closer and stood still infront of me, looked up and starred directly into my eyes, tongue out, panting - looking content as ever. It was Max! ❤

I tried finding pictures on trusty Google to represent the setting and this is as close as I can find:
Max looked a lot healthier and was obviously more stable on his feet in my dream after seeing him dart about the field like that! It was amazing to see, and the look in his eye when he held my gaze was just reassuring. Almost as if he was telling me he is ok, it was perfect.
In the past, when a loved one had passed, I would ALWAYS go on to dream about them, they would talk, walk, sit with me, and on one very disturbing occasion, I saw the death taking place and it was horrific (though I never actually witnessed this in 'real life'). I find it odd that this happens, but it is warming and I look at it as though they are coming to me in a way they can connect with me most, and I wouldn't change it for the world. Except for perhaps a couple of encounters!
❤ And last but by no means the least, our Max ❤
🐾 R.I.P 🐾
Sending comfort to anyone who has lost a beloved pet, friend or relative, with each other we will find peace and in our memory they shall live on forever.
❤❤❤
Lots of love from England
