I haven't visited Steemit in nearly six months. Life got too hectic and, sadly, Steemit fell off my radar. As you may or may not recall, I'm an Amazon best-selling, self-published gay romance author. (I was once with a publishing house, but, thankfully, chose to self-publish as an experiment and found it so much more rewarding that I've never gone back. Perhaps that's a post for another day.)

In January I decided to take a risk and release a book under a different pen name. The Difference Between by Blake Moreno (me) is a dark book with rape recovery & BDSM themes. I didn't think my usual readers would take to the subject matter, so I thought a separate pen name was the way to go. I could, and possibly should, write a post about why I wrote this book and the education/research behind it.

Just this month, I released a book called Slow Heat exploring a newer trope in the romance genre called Omegaverse. That definitely requires a post all on its own. The Omegaverse concept started in fan fiction in the mid-2000s. It didn't cross over to romance as a genre until the rise of werewolf or shifter books over the last six years or so. However, omegaverse has always existed outside of the shifter/werewolf structure, and, being a rebel like I am, I had to write my book about a non-shifter Omegaverse, just to be ornery.
