It is #wednesdaywalk #44 of 2026, and for this week I wanted to take a look at another part of the "Hans Suter Wildlife Refuge". I was pretty sure with the spring-like weather we have been having it should be interesting!
But first I want to thank tattoodjay@tattoodjay for this community - #wednesdaywalk ,
"Thank You"!

So this Wednesday I went to an area I have not been in awhile, maybe a year - but I had a hunch! I was thinking since I am seeing signs of spring everywhere (at the end of October) that if I went over to the flowery side of the Suter Wildlife Refuge that some plants would be blooming. I was right!
But first the walkways!
This is from where I was, a walkway back to the area here where I normally take photos from,

And this is the other way, which leads back down to the Channel,

If you walk a little further you pass this area which is another of my old favorites on this side,

Here another path makes an "S" curve and leads down to the water as well,

Now to the plants!

Walking along I passed this "Prickly Pear" Cactus,

Something not blooming!
I passed one of these bushes as well it's a Sandpaper tree or Knockaway. The small white flowers look like something from a floral arrangement!

Next I also passed a few of these, they are called "Yellow Bells" (Tecoma stans), aka Esperanza. This is a branch,

And a single flower,

These are blooming everywhere!

Under these was also some very vibrant red "Turk's Cap" in full bloom as well!

After that I also found some Mexican Honeysuckle,
This is the bush,

And a closer view of the flowers,

Then came a "big surprise"! I found these!

I thought this is a Periwinkle of some kind but...
This is a Cape Leadwort aka Blue Plumbago!
Here is two more photos as I really liked how these came out,

And finally on my way back I discovered I had a "watcher"! This Squirrel was keeping an eye on me most of the time!

And that was my #wednesdaywalk this week,
I want to thank you again for your visit - "Stay Blessed, Safe, and Happy"!
