The last post was Shameless Skies. This post contains a few sky painting I’ve done from my Ceilo series. They are 18” x 18” mixed media and are inspired by the celestial shenanigans that take place here in the San Luis Valley.
As shown in the first image, they are exhibited as a whole. Detailed shots follow. You may ask yourself, why would the sky part be on the lower half of the painting. Good question. Essentially, it is meant to depict the power of the horizon. I often have a 365 degree view that extends for miles. I can watch two or three storm systems at once. It’s kind of like being at sea. A recurring impression is that much of the action takes place near the horizon and the dome of the sky is like a weight that activates the horizontal edges. Therefore the “compressed” skies. Enjoy.
