Hello my Dearest Friends,
These are the largest, (about 1 inch long) and the most loudest bees in our neighborhood and in North America. They are also very fast and not easy to photograph, but I have been able to get few decent shots this year. However, I have a great photo I took three years ago with my old camera, unfortunately, it is still on the hard drive of my old computer and I wasn't able to access it yet. Anyway, a log story, lol.
Otherwise, these bees are not very dangerous, although they may seem like they are. The males are not able to sting at all and the females do only if under serious thread and they can sting multiple times without dying. However, they usually mind their own business buzzing around the flowers and not bothering humans. Except when I came close with my camera, they are not too happy, lol. Yet, I never felt they would hurt me and they never do. To learn more about life of EASTERN CARPENTER BEE please read HERE.
