Following my friend to their village is something I don't want to do again. I can't believe I stayed two days without internet connection and it makes the village so boring, I can't imagine living in that village for a long time.
I was just wondering how those living in that village cope without internet but then I think it's already part of them and they are already used to it so it doesn't mean much to them.
Their drinking water is something else, at this age, they are still fetching water from the stream, I followed my friend to go and fetch water and I couldn't believe it when she said it is the stream we are going. There is no social amenities in that village at all and it makes me remember back when we are still young and living in the village, I can't believe people are still living like that.
The worst part of it is that my phone battery was dead all through because there is no electricity and the only place they use to charge is quite far and not secure, It was a generator and there used to be a lot of people there. When I tried charging my phone there, I changed my mind immediately I got to the place because I can't risk my phone been stolen, I prefer it been dead than getting stolen.
What we are enjoying in the city makes everything easy, give us access to a lot of things. In the city, the availability of electricity, internet connection, good and clean water. We don't have to go to a lot of miles before getting water but they have access to non of this in that village.
I wish there is anything to do to help this people ease their stress, getting a clean drinkable water is one of the first thing a community needed but nobody is willing to provide that for them, even the old people have to go to such length to get water.
They might not see it as suffering but they are really suffering. We are going to the dry season now, the stream too will get dry and they won't be able to get enough water for their needs I wonder how they will cope through it.
