IPad replacing laptop
- Your current device
- How much is the iPad replaced?
- Photo editing and correction: with Lightroom Mobile and VSCO. I think it's been a year since I took pictures with my computer.
- Web surfing: 95% of Safari and 5% of Chrome are used.
- Document work: We are using Office 365 and Google Office. I think the compatibility between the Magic Keyboard and the iPad is good, and it does not seem to be a big problem. Especially, MASO office UI does not have any discomfort because it is almost the same as the desktop version. I have not written a Korean word processor, and if I try to write, I just turn on my laptop and work on my Mac.
- Video editing: Luma Fusion is just a simple task. I do not want to do it anyway, so I only need this number of tracks, and I also support LUT editing, so there is nothing more I can hope for.
- Game: Because there is a PLUS apart, Mac has almost no games. In the iPad, Walden blitz (do not do it. The play rate seems to be 80% of the iPad, 20% of the rate.
- Netflix and other video content: I do not have a home at all. Netflix as well as home video data is imported into the Samba or one drive network and viewed on the iPad.
- Non-substitutable areas
- Torrent: I have an iPad app. iTransmission .. But the app maker is also a little suspicious and has to give out a profile, so I'm not worried. So when you have to turn a torrent, you have to get a Macbook. (I would like to know more information about that app.)
- Certified certificate: Shopping malls are almost useless because they are almost all introduced. However, when renewing a public certificate or a certificate once a year, you have to turn on the MacBook. Of course, I think this area will also change slowly if it complies with Web standards.
- Reason to replace
- Compatible Apple peripherals: It looks like the house was virtually an apple farm. It is almost compatible with the iPad because it is compatible and interoperable.
- Light: Pro 3 generation is 468 grams and Magic Keyboard 2 is 231 grams. Combined, it is one gram less than 700 grams. But my MacBook Pro is old and heavy. I just feel like I'm in the bag.
- The emergence of universal apps: In the past, mobile apps had a feature that was less than desktop. But nowadays, it is almost the same performance or the same performance, so you can not use your desktop.
- Pads' powerful performance and scalability: Pro 3 Generation Bench Scores show that CPUs for generic notebooks are over two or three generations ago. Of course, the operating system is different, so simple comparison is difficult. It was famous for its graphical performance beyond the box. With the recent USB-C, the scalability has improved considerably.
Lifestyle that does not require a big screen: I'm not the person who makes the design or the photo fully up, so I did not have the desire for bigger screen. I could do as much as 11 inches.
- Future outlook
- Is not the laptop market for light users capable of leveling with the third generation of iPad Pro? I think it is lighter and stronger. Peripherals are cheap for third parties. Acer, Asus, and Msi are likely to suffer a bit.
- It will be easier if iPadOS starts to update in earnest. Especially mouse support. It also recognizes external storage devices. I think it will be recognized as a plus pad.
