Rescate Animal en el Río Orinoco / Animal Rescue in the Orinoco River

Hace algunas semanas me tocó realizar un rescate que solo fué posible a la constancia y la adrenalina, pero también a la experiencia.

Un gato (despues supe que era hembra) estaba en las ramas de un arbol que estaba a pocos dias de quedar sumergido en el Río Orinoco. Durante 3 dias intentamos rescatarlo y no fue posible, no confiaba en nosotros y se escondía, pero seguía estando en peligeo.

Al tercer día, con el apoyo de la Armada (marina venezolana) logramos acercarnos más y realizar el rescate, eso sí, como el gato se asustó, saltó al agua por el miedo.

Afortunadamente fui deportista de Aguas Abiertas bastamte tiempo y un gato no me iba a ganar nadando, así que se logró el objetivo.

Días despues al llevarlo a esterilizar descubrimos que es hembra. 😅 el desenlace de la historia es que ya Jarvis está a salvo, sabiá que eso de la natación sería util algun dia

A few weeks ago, I had to carry out a rescue that was only possible thanks to perseverance, adrenaline, and experience.

A cat (I later learned it was female) was in the branches of a tree that was just days away from being submerged in the Orinoco River. For three days we tried to rescue it, but it wasn't possible. It didn't trust us and kept hiding, but it was still in danger.

On the third day, with the support of the Venezuelan Navy, we managed to get closer and carry out the rescue. Of course, the cat got scared and jumped into the water.

Fortunately, I was an open water swimmer for quite some time, and a cat wasn't going to outswim me, so we achieved our goal.

Days later, when we took it to be spayed, we discovered it was female. 😅 The end of the story is that Jarvis is now safe. I knew that swimming skill would come in handy someday.
