Today I decided to give a chance to one of the anime I had on my pending list. To end up discovering a gem that left me very surprised by its quality.
Literally, this series is everything I would have liked Pokémon to be.
This story is about Fan Lingxao, a leader of his own sect. Who is a talented master of spiritual pets.
During the cult promotion competition, he was devoured by his own spirit pet. It turns out that his whale was in a state of possession, a forbidden ritual to conspire against him.
Thanks to an old master and a scroll, he manages to reincarnate a year later, taking the body of a slave named Liu Fengmang.
With this new opportunity, our protagonist will seek to discover the truth and revive his sect. Together with his spiritual pets.
What I liked most about this series, without a doubt, was its animation. I had never in my life seen an anime with so much visual quality. From super detailed shots, to very fluid battles. Without exaggerating, there were moments where I was open-mouthed with amazement. In this aspect for me is a 10/10, it is unbeatable.
The design of the spiritual mascots is another marvel. I find them, for the most part, very creative and eye-catching. Especially the main character's mascot, Kun the whale. Which is imposing, majestic and beautiful. I'm quite a fan of things that are inspired by aquatic animals.
I also want to highlight the protagonist's new pets after reincarnation, the cactus and the french poodle. I found them adorable and very funny. And they end up making a great contrast with the colossal whale.
I think this is the ideal choice for those of us who wanted to see a more adult version of Pokémon. With serious themes, more violence, adult jokes, etc. It looks like our prayers were answered.
It's funny because 1 or 2 weeks ago I made a post criticizing Pokémon and now I come across this marvel that surpasses it in almost everything 😅
I don't usually give praise lightly because I'm extremely critical and detail-oriented, but this anime left me very impressed. It left a very good taste in my mouth just watching the first episode.
Probably, when I finish watching it, I will make a broader and deeper review. And I'd like to give it a proper rating. So surely, you will see me talking about this series again shortly.
Personally, I recommend this series to everyone. It is one of those anime that I feel that most people will like. And that most will enjoy it, because it only has 12 chapters. It is within everyone's reach, there is no excuse for lack of time.
