Hello, how are you? I've been so down this morning for no reason, and the one thing click on my mind is that the cause of it is me overthinking again, so I found out that writing that thing that makes you feel overwhelmed is one that work for me for a weird reason so whenever that came again I always do that and it work everything when I finally solve that overthinking I throw those list on my trashcan LOL.

So that is why I can finally post some of the Gloom Charm I made, and last week I posted Potato Gloom, and I decided to make his cousin, Sweet Potato LOL.

Materials I Used:

  • Polymer Clay
  • Weighing Scale
  • Needle Tool
  • White Paper
  • Dotting Tool
  • Clay Hole Cutter
  • X- Acto Knife
  • Metal Ball
  • UV Resin
  • UV Lamp
  • Nail Polish Brush
  • Disposable Gloves
  • Mask
  • Acrylic Stamping Block
  • Soft Pastels
  • Brush
  • Eyepin
  • Oven
  • Pliers
  • Keychain

Craft Time!

Condition the clay first. I am going to use a mixture of 95% of white and a 5% of yellow.

After conditioning the clay, I weighed it to the exact size I wanted.

And then I shape and smooth the clay by rolling it around my palm.

Using the metal ball tool, I make a hole or round dent where Gloom head will be placed.

To add the texture of a sweet potato, I use a needle tool.

This is the messy and satisfying part of the process: adding shading to the clay. I use soft pastel and a brush to do the shading. After that, I set it aside for later.

For Gloom's head, I am going to use a skin tone clay, and just like I did with others, I condition and weigh it.

Smooth it up using my palm.

Then shape it into a bean-like shape.

I grab the sweet potato I made earlier, add the head I made into the dent, and then make a map for the eyes using a dotting tool.

This is what it looks like, and then to make the eyes, eyebrows, and lips. I use a clay round cutter to do the job.

I added the eyes one by one.

And next are the eyebrows.

And for the nose, I use pink and then shape it into a triangle shape, and then cut the bottom to make a heart shape.

For the lips, I rolled a thin line of clay and then cut two into a little line, and then I added that thin clay using an X-Acto knife.

Then I added the eyepins.

Before I forget, I added blush using soft pastels and a thin brush.

Then I bake the clay at a set temperature and time as instructed in the clay packaging. Let the clay cool down.

I pour resin into the clay and then apply it equally using the nail polish brush.

And then cure it under the UV Lamp for a few minutes.

This is what it looks like, shiny and fresh gloom LOL.

To add the keychain, I put the jump ring into the eyepin.

And then lock it using pliers.

Here is a different angle of Sweet Potato Gloom.

Here it is, too.

I hope you like it! :D
