Potato Gloom Handmade Clay Keychain

Hello, how are you? I've been trying to convince myself to do a potato Gloom, but I have kind of hesitated to do it. Last week I convinced myself to do it, and I really like the result of it, what bother not doing it, whether I should do it realistically or just a simple one, but the realistic one is better in my imagination, and I am so happy about it.

So I am happy to show you how I make it. So yeah, the weather is cold today, so I have a lot of energy to be progressive.

Craft Time!

I first make the potato. I condition the clay first, and then after that, I weigh it on a portable weighing scale.

And then I shape the clay until the outer texture is soft, with no crease.

Now that the outer part of the clay is soft, I shape it into a potato and put it on an acrylic stamping block for better sculpting.

And then I added a hole for the Gloom head for later use with this metal ball tool.

---

Using the dotting tool, I added a texture like a potato.

---

When I am satisfied enough with the texture, I am going to move to adding shades to the clay using soft pastels and a brush.

This is what it looks like. Set it aside for later.

For the head of Gloom, I am going to use a skin tone clay, condition, and weigh it just like I did with the potato earlier.

And then roll it around my palm to make the outer part of the texture soft.

And then shape it into a head shape.

---

And then put that head into the potato.

---

And then, using the dotting tool, I added a map to add the eyes of Gloom.

And then to add the eyes, I flatten a dark brown and cut some using this hole clay cutter, and then roll those into a small ball, and then put it onto the hole map I made.

And then do the same on the eyebrows.

For the nose, I use pink and then shape it into a triangle, and then put it on the face.

And then cut just the bottom part to make a heart-shaped nose.

Then, for the lips, I roll a thin clay and then cut using an X-Acto knife, and then put them one by one.

And then I added the eyepin.

---

I almost forgot to add the blush, so I used soft pastel and a brush.

Then bake the clay. Let the clay cool off before proceeding to the next step.

After that, I pour UV Resin onto the clay and then apply it using a nail polish brush.

This is what it looks like.

And then I cure it under a UV Lamp for a few minutes or until it is no longer sticky.

And then I put the jumpring into the eyepin and then lock the jumpring using two pliers.
