Hello, how are you? I've been itching to make Gloom Charm again, but I recently observed that most of the clay I use is so soft, so I decided to stop making clay for a moment, and I saw a hack that if you sandwich a clay between two pieces of paper and put a heavy object above it, the paper will absorb oil from the clay so I am currently doing it LOL.
Eggplant Gloom, for example have a very soft clay but I manage to mold it even if it is hard so patient is number one is the key. Yeah, I am going to make Eggplant Gloom this time, and shading it is my number one enemy in messiness and a lot of mixing of soft pastel, and please bear with me with this messy process, LOL.

Craft Time!
Today, I like to shade my clay instead of using an eggplant-colored clay. I decided to use a lighter one so that I can shade it, and then I condition it. This one is easy to condition due to its softness, and then weigh it, just for personal preference.
And then shape it into a certain shape.
I carefully add a dent in the bottom part where Gloom's head will be placed later.
For the shading, I used a lot of colors of soft pastels, and I apply it using a makeup brush or just a regular brush.
For the top part, I use greenish lime color and then roll it to shape it.
Place it on top of the metal ball and press it until it covers almost all of the metal ball, and then cut the shape part of it using an X-Acto Knife.
After cutting, I spread those pieces to form the top of an eggplant.
Grab the two I sculpted.
And then assembled them to look like this.
For the head, I use skin tone as always, condition, and weight.
And shape it into a head shape, and then I put those onto the dent I made earlier.
And then using a dotting tool, I added a map for my reference later.
I cut a piece of brown clay, shaped it into a small ball, and added it to the map I made earlier.
And then I do the same thing on the eyebrows.
For the nose, I use pinking clay and shape it into a triangle, and put it onto the face.
Cut the bottom part with an X-Acto Knife to make the shape of an inverted heart.
This is what it looks like.
And then I added the blush using soft pastels and a brush.
And then I added the eyepin.
Bake the clay in the oven, as instructed on the back of the packaging.
And to make the charm stronger and glossy I added a UV Resin and applied it using a nail polish brush.
After that, I cure it under UV Lamp for a few minutes or until fully cured.
And then I put in the jump ring along with the keychain, and then lock it using pliers.
Eggplant Gloom!
