Hello, how are you? When the avocado season happened not one we didn't harvest any from our avocado tree, hahaha. This year, it completely got crazy. We got sick eating it, so we gave some to our other family, but this year, just like last year, nothing... but our mango tree is going crazy, giving us fruit to harvest. The crazy thing I found out is that people from other countries don't eat avocado for dessert, but they add it to their bread, and that info blows my mind LOL, same as us from them.
I've been wanting to make Avocado Gloom for a long time. I felt like I couldn't do it at all, so I challenged myself to make one today, and I guess I did well but needed improvement hehe.
The clay I used is so soft that conditioning it is easy, but there is a downside: it cannot hold any shape without ruining it, LOL. Then I weigh it to the exact weight I wanted.
Roll it around my palm to make a smooth outer part. I shaped it into an avocado shape.
Because I am going to make the sliced avocado, I am going to add two dents: one for the head of the avocado and one for the seed of avocado. I use a metal ball for this part.
This is what it looks like kind of ruins the shape of the avocado, but I can manage LOL.
I started adding shades using soft pastels and a brush.
For the seed, roll brown clay into a ball.
And then I am going to add that on the dent I made earlier.
And then the head of Gloom.
Then I made a map of where I am going to add each part of the face of Gloom, and then I prepared all the clay for each part.
I added the eyes first.
Then the nose.
For the lips, I rolled a very thin clay cut two equal sizes, and added them one by one using an X-Acto knife.
Then I added the eyepin.
I almost always forget to add the blush, so I am going to add it using soft pastels and a brush.
Bake the clay.
To add more protection and to make the clay shiny. I am going to use UV resin, and then I am going to apply it using a nail polish brush.
Cure it under a UV lamp for a few minutes.
Then I added the keychain using pliers.
Here is Avocado Gloom! I hope you like it :D
