The scene opens with the family gathered in Grandpa's living room. It's the holidays and David (Grandpa's son) and his wife have recently given birth to their first child. David's wife is off set in another room of the house and David is left on his own with his family. It is the first time that the family has seen the new baby.
Grandpa: "Let me see my new grandson. Why you're getting quite big already aren't you? And heavy! On my. Perhaps everyone should take a turn holding him. Here Lilith, you take him."
He gestures for Lilith to take the baby.
Aunt Lilith: "Yes, I want to hold the baby!"
David: "No dad, we're not passing around the baby. It's time for his nap. Give him here."
Grandpa: "Well I don't see the harm in Lilith holding him for a minute or two?"
David: "Dad no! Do not give him to Lilith. Just pass him back to me."
Paul: "Dad, give David back the...
Paul pauses for a beat.
"Hey. Who's that Guy?"
Michael looks over his shoulder towards the other room but there is no one there.
Michael: "Who? Me?"
Slightly confused, he turns to Natalie for support and then back to Paul.
"I'm Michael..."
He pauses for a beat.
"Natalie's boyfriend?"
Paul: "Why are you dressed like Darth Vader?"
Michael: "I'm not dressed like Darth Vader. That's my face. I'm black!"
He turns to Natalie again and whispers.
"I thought you said your family was cool? Your brother is a bloody racist!"
Natalie is in her own little world at the moment, deep in thought.
Natalie: "No one ever pays attention to me in this family. We've been here for an hour and no one's even said 'Hi' to me."
Young Oscar: "I'm the favorite, right mama?"
Aunt Louise: "Yes my darling. You are the favorite."
Natalie: "No one has even commented on my snake necklace!"
Grandpa: "The baby stinks! I think he pooped himself."
The scene starts to get a little chaotic with everyone talking at once.
Natalie: "What do I have to do for someone to notice me in this household!?!"
David: "Okay dad, hand the baby here. I'll take care of his diaper."
Paul: "I'm sorry guy. I thought you were wearing a mask or something."
Michael: "Let's get the hell out of here Natalie."
Natalie clearly frustrated: "That's it! I'm taking off my shirt!
Everyone begins shouting at one another and the scene gets even more chaotic. The spotlight shines on Aunt Lilith while the rest of the set fades to black.
