I retreated upstairs to grab health crystals before confronting the Hiss entities. After clearing leftover hostiles, I cleansed the control point and transformed the area into a subway-like structure. Pushing into the AWE sector, I eliminated floating enemies, avoided a sudden spike anomaly, and rotated the turntable tracks.
My health was critically low, and staying in the immediate fray meant certain death. Realizing I had left precious health crystals on the upper level, I retreated upstairs to gather them. To my surprise, a few Hiss entities had tracked my movement.
Returning to the lower floor, I expected a quiet room, thinking I had already wiped out the bulk of the forces. However, a few hostiles were still lurking in the shadows. One managed to sneak up right behind me, but I reacted quickly and took him down before he could attack me.
With the area finally clear of immediate threats, I approached the corrupted control point and cleansed it. The room instantly shifted and restructured around me, transforming the brutalist concrete into an old subway station.
With the room cleansed, my objective updated. I needed to reach the Ordinary AWE area, which required rotating a massive set of turntable tracks to open up the path ahead. Stepping into the transit hub, I found the place crawling with floating Hiss entities.
Some Hiss entities were dodging my telekinetic throws. I had to adapt my strategy, so I climbed onto the high platform behind them while they were looking for me on the opposite side.
Flanking them from behind, I brought them down one by one using targeted shots from my service revolver.
Just as the floating threats fell, a spike anomaly emerged out of nowhere, threatening to impale me. I dodged sideways just in time, narrowly escaping its deadly reach.
With the room quiet once more, I searched for the mechanism to rotate the turntable tracks. I noticed several objects stuck along the wall near the turntable, which looked like they could jam the mechanism. I cleared the pathway just in case.
Initially, I found a heavy door, but it was completely sealed off by thick Hiss corruption. Continuing my search, I finally spotted the track control panel sitting nearby, a console I had almost overlooked moments earlier.
I activated the controls, and the giant turntable began to rotate smoothly into place. The debris I had cleared from the wall earlier would have certainly jammed the mechanism, making the extra cleanup worthwhile.
With the tracks fully aligned, my mission objective updated, directing me straight toward the Ordinary AWE area.
However, rather than pushing forward immediately into unknown danger, I decided to play it safe. I backtracked to the recently cleansed control point to save my progress and pause my session, leaving the doorway to the AWE open and ready for the next move.
