—Hijo… ¿Quieres enviar algún mensaje a tu madre?
—¿Cuándo vendrá mi esposa a verme?

-What are you looking out the window? -asked his father with a nostalgic tone.
The young man was silent for a moment, his father thought it was another one of those occasions when he kept silent for hours, just to punish him.
-I watch the crows," he answered simply.
-Your mother asked me to read this note to you....
-They are interesting birds," he said, interrupting him, without taking his eyes off the window, "many are frightened of them, they think they will gouge their eyes out, but I like them.
His father paused, and put the note in his pocket.
-Do you want to talk about crows? Let's talk about crows then... How many crows can you see out there?
-They make a strange noise, all of them... they caw, or something," said the young man, ignoring his father's question.
The father got up from the couch and sat on the edge of the bed.
-Son... Do you want to send a message to your mother?
The young man began to draw with his finger on the window glass.
-I'll leave the note on your bedside table. You can read it later. It's time for me to go.
-There, there! -exclaimed the young man, pointing outside. That crow steals that man's bread... Look how he fights with the crow! What a fool that guy is.
The father smiled as he listened to him, he knew there was no purpose in convincing him that there was no crow outside, that it was just a way for his mind to escape from reality. But despite his smile, his face showed the hidden sadness of seeing his offspring in that condition. She leaned over to kiss him, and stroked his hair before leaving.
-Dad..." said the young man without turning to look at him, "Tell mom that I love her very much, that I miss her. That I'm sorry for what I did to her.
The father nodded. A tear ran down his cheek and he said:
-I'll tell her, she'll be glad to hear it, I assure you.
The nurse took him by the arm and led him to his own room. The man was taciturn, his mood changed every time he spoke to his son; his memories were also temporarily erased.
-When is my wife coming to see me? -he asked the nurse.
-John, we have already talked about this many times, your wife will not come, she can't come, she is dead," the nurse answered softly.
The father nodded again, and lay back on his bed.
