This time, I didn’t prepare a packed lunch as I usually do when we go to spend the day at the pool or on the beach, because this place serves some delicious lunches. They served us yellow rice with fried chicken, which I really enjoyed. They also sell lots of snacks; we bought some tamales. That reminds me of the last time I went to the beach – there were several tamale vendors, each with their own special sauce, which really caught my attention. In our case, the tamales we were given came with mayonnaise and ketchup.
The weather was lovely – neither too sunny nor too cloudy – just perfect for a great day swimming in the pool. I put on my grey sun hat, which my husband really likes, and we found a strategic spot to swim under one of the little bridges in the pool; we took shelter from the sun there, as I have quite sensitive skin.

Nos dieron arroz amarillo con pollo frito, me gustó mucho. Además para merendar venden también muchas cosas, nosotros compramos tamales. Eso me recuerda la última vez que fui a la playa, habían varios vendedores de tamales y cada uno traía su propia salsa especial, eso me llamó mucho la atención. En nuestro caso los tamales que nos dieron tenían mayonesa y ketchup.
El día estuvo muy agradable ni muy soleado ni muy nublado, en el punto perfecto para un gran día de baño en la piscina. Me puse mi pamela gris que a mi esposo le gusta mucho y encontramos un lugar estratégico para bañarnos que quedaba debajo de uno de los pequeños puentes que tiene está piscina, ahí nos refugiamos del sol, porque yo tengo la piel un poco sensible.

We had a good laugh because the contestants were quite inventive with their dance moves. My husband swam a bit, but I didn’t swim much. I like the pool for cooling off and relaxing; I’ve never been very good at swimming.

Later on we got peckish and bought some sweets for a snack – some coconut and guava tartlets which were delicious. Ronald’s dad, my husband, was with us that day and had a brilliant time too.
By the pool there were also board games for the more laid-back types like us. My husband and I played dominoes; we didn’t do too badly – we managed to win a few times. They were holding a tournament where the winner would be presented with a cake. Of course, I was particularly keen to take part, and although we didn’t win, it was great fun giving it a go.
As the afternoon wore on, the sun began to set and I started to feel a bit chilly, as did my husband. He felt it more than I did. It was also nearly time for our transport to pick us up, so we got out of the water, dried off, got changed and got everything ready so we could board the bus without getting wet. It was a truly lovely day; we hope to return to this lovely swimming pool soon. A big hug to you all. Until next time.
