Un Encuentro de Fe en las Alturas: Nuestra Experiencia en La Gran Piedra /A Encounter of Faith at the Heights: Our Experience at La Gran Piedra .
There are moments in life where faith and nature come together to give us unforgettable experiences. A while ago, a group of brothers and sisters in Christ ventured into the majestic Sierra Maestra to climb to one of the most impressive places in Cuba: La Gran Piedra.

About 25 kilometers from Santiago de Cuba and over 1,200 meters above sea level, the trip was a true gift. As we ascended the steep, winding road, the atmosphere changed completely: the city's warm breeze gave way to a cool mountain climate, wrapped in lush vegetation filled with tree ferns, pines, and beautiful wildflowers.
The physical challenge of the trail and the steep steps became a metaphor for our spiritual walk. But every single step was worth it.
Once atop this colossal block of volcanic rock—internationally recognized for its massive size—surrounded by an endless landscape encompassing the mountains and the Caribbean Sea, we lifted our hands toward the sky. On that elevated natural altar, we cried out and interceded in faith:
🙏 We prayed for Cuba, for its people, for peace, and for better days.
🙏 We prayed for our families, that God's blessing and protection would always remain in every home.
🙏 We laid down our personal intentions, leaving our burdens and desires in the presence of the Creator.
Climbing this mountain was not only a physical adventure, but also a space of brotherly fellowship, inner renewal, and deep prayer. We are reminded that no matter how high the mountain in front of us may seem, with faith we can always reach the summit and behold the greatness of God.
“I will lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121:1-2)
