Greetings to everyone in this great community.
Today I want to introduce you to this cactus that I've had for a few years. When it was given to me, it was barely a small branch.
I know it as the saw cactus, but it has several nicknames such as zig-zag, queen of the night (it blooms at night), fishbone cactus, and others. It is a trailing succulent plant with green leaves shaped like a double-edged saw, which is where its nicknames come from.
Since I've had it, it has never bloomed. I think I should place it on a tree trunk so it feels more comfortable and gives me its beautiful, large flowers.
If you notice, it has aerial roots on its branches because this cactus is an epiphytic plant, just like orchids that grow on tree trunks.
It is not a parasitic plant; it only uses the trunk as a physical support, obtaining nutrients from water, rain, and dust.
I keep it in a spot that receives direct light and water it once a week since it is relatively drought-tolerant.
This group of epiphytic plants includes some of the most fascinating and beautiful species, which is why I want to see it bloom so much.
I will look for a suitable place to put one of its branches with aerial roots.
