We all know that Caffeine is a stimulant.
The reason is that it quickly enters the brain, and blocking the Adenosine Receptors (these are responsible for dulling the brains activity).
By blocking these dulling receptors, we then feel a sense of invigoration, focus and even a mild euphoria. This also enhances our performance of certain focused tasks.
But did you know that caffeine also has some painkiller properties.
Some simple pain-killers like aspirin is made more effective when caffeine is also added. The amounts added are about two to three times that in a regular cup of coffee.
Just another perk in Coffee
