Hello HerbalHive community, excellent week... I tell you that I have several recipes for natural cosmetics saved on my phone, however, now I am in the phase of my husband sleeping, but really resting. He has been sent melatonin but while we get it we need something to relax him.
I remember that in my old job I worked in the chemical industry, they made a preparation called drops of Carmen. It really was miraculous for pain, colic and tranquilizer.
When reading its technical file, its main ingredient was Toronjil (Melisa OFFICINALIS). Recently, in some books reviewing about plants for leg pain, I came across lemon balm again and coincidentally the recipe for Agua del Carmen.
However, I made a variation with what I had at home.
Lemon Balm is a wild herbaceous plant with a soft, aromatic and pleasant smell, its leaves are heart-shaped, its flowers are white and very numerous, it is also used medicinally and its essential oil is used in the preparation of perfumes. It is used in infusion as a natural tranquilizer (appreciated for its strong aroma of lemon).
It is usually consumed in infusion as tea, also in salad or food, it is very nutritious since it contains many vitamins and minerals (vitamins A, complex B, C and D, iron, potassium and zinc).
In general, its properties are digestive, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, soothing, sedative, antispasmodic, antiviral, antioxidant, decongesting and expectorant, headache,
To relieve nervousness, add 1 gram of lemon balm leaves to boiling water (lemon balm tea-infusion), cover and let stand for a few minutes. Then strain and drink 3 to 4 cups of this tea a day.
Now our star recipe: Agua del Carmen or Carmelitas: it is a hydroalcoholic tincture with sedative properties, made up of medicinal and aromatic plants such as Lemon balm, lemon peel, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and valerian or angelica root. . It is a proven natural alternative to calm, calm and remove anxiety, reduce nervous breakdowns, in fact it is marketed by pharmacies
For this you need:
- 12.5 grams Green lemon balm in flower.
- 2.5 grams Fresh lemon rind.
- 1.5 grams cinnamon.
- 1.5 grams cloves.
- 1.5 grams nutmeg.
- 5 grams valerian.
-10 grams alcohol of 96 degrees.
-100 grams water.
I prepared it more diluted and with hot water, since I needed it quickly. In addition, he is taking medication and should not drink alcohol. Also without valerian (didn't have, here it's quite difficult)
We mix everything in a large glass jar or bottle, add the water and alcohol and leave it tightly covered for 30 days; we shake it every day and avoid it being in contact with light and heat. After a few days, it is filtered.
To take it you can sweeten it with a little honey.
We started here yesterday and it went well for us, obviously by not leaving the maceration time complete and lowering the alcoholic strength, the effect is less but we don't want something that leaves us inoperative either.
Se usa en infusi贸n como tranquilizante natural(apreciada por su fuerte aroma a lim贸n).
Transcurridos los d铆as se filtra.
