Continuing with the adventure through the madness of Alice Madness Returns I decided to use one of the special costumes instead of using the one from the adventure, for this occasion I chose the queen of hearts that doubles my damage and unknowingly combined perfectly with the new level that is about the queen's lands where at the beginning everything is a castle of cards in the air, the celestial views of the card castles on the clouds were simply fantastic and with the costume inspired by chess horses and red and white colors everything made an incredible contrast.
Soon I arrived at the queen's lands where everything stopped being celestial views to be a runic and gloomy vision of a castle all desolate and destroyed by time, also I met again with the cat so peculiar and disturbing that always accompanies my adventure, an aspect that was very cool to look at was the design of the place, giant structures of dirty blocks and large doors and metal designs with rusty tones that complemented the disturbing atmosphere.
I didn't expect the enemies in this level to look bloody and somewhat scary, the enemies are based on card soldiers which was very predictable, but at the same time they are some zombie soldiers, all covered in blood, lacerations, cuts and quartered cooked with thread to remain one piece, luckily with the exploding kettle and double damage they were easy to defeat.
The strange NPCs and disturbing figures can never be missing in Alice's adventure so the design of the queen in a painting is peculiar to say the least, inside the castle I got a formidable enemy, tedious and with a great murderous capacity which is called the Executor, a large card, dismembered and cooked, but which in turn seems possessed or infected by a kind of parasite that has its tentacles through the upper part of his body and come out of his eyes.
The tedious thing about this enemy is that at the moment you can't beat it, you can only run away as fast as you can and during the escape the camera is automatically positioned frontally towards Alice so you can't see the path in front of you, besides being watching the Executioner at all times and increasing the tension even more, although the views and shots of Alice fleeing for her life are shocking, a giant scythe that eliminates you with two blows, a force capable of opening giant metal bars with one hand and a tireless determination to eliminate Alice makes this enemy very tedious and difficult to forget, although I'm sure that when you manage to defeat him it will be a unique pleasure to put an end to his murderous intention on poor Alice.
So far one of the aspects that I liked most about the level is the decoration, the luxurious style and prestige of a queen, but completely devastated by time and neglect is incredible, giant doors, floors and red velvet curtains that generate a very nice effect but at the same time denotes a dark and deteriorated tone seems to me an incredible result, and the contrast between the inner parts of the castle and the outside completely destroyed and in ruins is very cool for distant shots and show Alice's colorful costume.
