Capitalism Causes Income Inequality - and It’s Literally Changing Children’s Brains

We all know that capitalism is built on competition and profit, not fairness. It rewards a few people at the top while leaving the rest of us struggling to get by. Over time, this creates huge income inequality, and now research shows it's not just taking our money, but it is affecting our brains too!

A 2025 study in Nature Mental Health found that income inequality is linked to real changes in brain structure and function, along with worse mental health. People living under more unequal systems experience more stress, anxiety, and emotional strain.

This means capitalism isn’t just dividing society- it’s shaping children's minds in harmful ways. The constant pressure to work harder, pay bills, and survive under economic inequality is physically affecting our brains and future.

We deserve a system that values people’s well-being, not one that damages our mental health to protect the rich.
