Hello everyone. Fang District is a rural district in the northern part of Chiang Mai Province. Most of the district is surrounded by nature and farms. Looks shady and quiet. In addition, this district has a wide variety of ethnic groups. And the majority of the population of the district is Buddhist. Therefore, Fang District has many temples. Although most temples in the district are small temples. There are not many architectures and sculptures like temples in the city. But these temples are beautiful and unique in the Lanna art style (Arts of the north of Thailand).
Me and my wife like temples and nature. So we want to go to every temple in the district where we live and share these temples with friends. We go to many temples in Fang District. And last month we had the opportunity to go to Wat Pang Poi. So I would like to introduce and share this temple.
Wat Pang Poi is a small and peaceful temple, which is located on the hill. Getting to this temple, drive on highway 107, the Chiang Mai-Fang route. Upon arrived Fang District, drive towards Mae Kha Subdistrict - Mae Suai. On the way, Wat Pang Poi is located on the left side.
When me and my wife arrived this temple. I parked my car at area bottom of the staircase leading up to the temple. This staircase is a serpent staircase. And this temple can drive up the hill to the temple. But we choose to walk up the staircase to go to the temple.
Area the staircase there is a name plate of Wat Pang Poi in Thai language.
When we walk up the staircase to the temple. The first thing we see was a pavilion, inside the pavilion there were many statues of monks.
As we passed the pavilion, we see a large buddha image hall (viharn). This large buddha image hall (viharn) is built with cement bricks and painted white. Decorated with Tai Yai art patterns blending with Lanna art, most of them are red and color gold look beautiful. In addition, under the window there is a stucco picture of 12 zodiac signs in Thai style. Area front of the stairs at the entrance to the buddha image hall (viharn), there is a white deity statue, but there is no Naga statue on the railing, which is different from other temples.
Inside the buddha image hall (viharn) there is a large white main buddha image, look beautiful. And several other buddha images. On the walls there are paintings of pagodas, the way of life of villagers with temple and buddha.
Near the large buddha image hall (viharn), we can see a small pavilion inside the pavilion with two buddha images.
As my wife and I continued walking, we see a large building being built. First I thought they were building another large buddha image hall (viharn).
But I asked the monks, this building is a building whose ground floor is used for villagers' activities with the temple and the upper floor is a view point around the temple.
Views around the temple are villages of Tai Yai and hill tribe villages. We can also see the villagers' farms in that area too. The monk told us that near the temple there is a Tai Yai village. and many hill tribe villages. And we love the view around the temple. It looks beautiful and relaxing.
Then we go to see the pagoda of this temple, which we had to walk up the stairs. The pagoda of this temple is a low and small pagoda built with cement and painted in color gold.
When we finished viewing the pagodas of the temple, we go home. Of course we enjoyed the trip to Wat Pang Poi very much. Therefore, this temple is another temple in my district that I would like to recommend to my friends.
These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to watch and enjoy my stories and photos. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 馃
