Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. In this post, I’ll take you on a tour of a rural village in Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai is the largest province in Thailand by area. I moved here from my hometown 10 years ago and have traveled to many parts of the province. Yet, that’s still just a small fraction of the entire region. There are still so many areas left for me to explore. During my leisure time, I frequently go driving with my wife without a fixed destination. It is a journey to embrace new experiences and unwind from daily life. On this trip, we traveled through a rural village. This rural village called Ban Lan. This village is a large rural village with a diverse range of ethnic groups, but the majority are local Thai people.
Upon approaching the village, a village sign stands by the rural roadside alongside a portrait of His Majesty King Rama X. Upon entering this area, we pass through the villagers' agricultural land prior to reaching the residential community.
The agricultural land of the villagers consists of fruit orchards, such as longan and orange orchards, along with some other fruits. Additionally, they cultivate rice, and during the off-season from rice farming, cattle herding is practiced in certain areas. Unfortunately, the rural road were quite narrow, so I missed out on capturing the beautiful scenery in many areas.
The fang river runs through several parts of this village. As the primary river in the district, it plays a crucial role in supporting the local villagers' farming activities.
Although the neighborhood consists mostly of older, small, single-story houses, the area is well-developed with shops, restaurants, schools, a health clinic, and a temple. Here are some highlights of the local atmosphere I gathered.
