Fungi are the interface organisms between life and death.

I normally just use Fungus Flinger because of Martyr but there were some games that made me question this. I think Fungus Flinger is more than a unit that's meant to die and after taking a closer look, you may believe me or not, but, in most cases, Fungus Flinger may be worth keeping alive than dead.
On this week's Card Highlights, let me show you why you shouldn't leave him dead and why it makes more sense to keep Fungus Flinger alive.

It is unable to be transferred, rented/delegated, burned, bought or sold until the cards go out of print. It is tied to the account that has earned it through gameplay/chests. Gladiator cards are also Soulbound. |
Martyr |
This is still the main use of Fungus Flinger and Martyr is more effective in lower league due to lower stats on this level.
Blind |
Having Blind on a Martyr is interesting. This makes your opponent think if they should eliminate this unit first to remove the Blinded status on their team but doing that also gives your team an advantage with Martyr.
Affliction |
On higher leagues, now, they must eliminate this unit first. Affliction disrupts a lot of tactics and if really strong if your opponents came unprepared.
| Fungus Flinger's strength comes from its disruptive playstyle. Like I said, your opponents needs to decide whether eliminating him first is better to prevent accumulated negative status in exchange for the Martyr buff that your team will gain. |
| The only weakness I can see is that he's hard to level up. Since you can only get Fungus Flinger in reward chests, luck is your basis on getting him. |
Equal Opportunity |
With Equal Opportunity, he's very easy to set for the Martyr. If you can make this unit the lowest health, your enemies will be forced to attack this unit first.
Going the Distance |
If you get to Silver and above, you can use his Blind ability, given that you have the level requirement for both this unit and the summoner. The reduced hit chance from Blinded is strong to make your enemies miss their attacks.
Rise of the Commons |
There are a very few useful Common and Rare monsters and having this one on your builds can make your life easier.
Equal Opportunity |
In lower league where you want this eliminated first, Equal Opportunity may be the worst as it increases the health of this unit.
Healed Out |
Since Fungus Flinger has Affliction, that ability is useless in Healed Out since your enemies are already not allowed to use any forms of Heal.
Are You Not Entertained |
While it's tempting for you to place this unit in the front of your Gladiator monster, it's not really worth the rewards. Even though you get the Martyr bonus if your enemies kill this unit, they also get their own benefit because of Bloodlust.

The double Martyr with Regal Peryton is strong enough to make even the 4 speed Unicorn Mustang miss 3 times in a row. This is because the Flying ability combined with the increased speed makes Regal Peryton very strong despite being in a disadvantageous position.
