Hello steemit!! I am Srihari. A medical student based in Pondicherry, a costal town based in tropical southern India. As you know there is a lot to study!!
But in my down time I escape to the town which is filled with beaches, restaurants and quite and charming alleyways of French architecture seeing that the town was a former French colony.
As any millennial would, I love to travel and to see new places and I also do a bit of poetry, but since I am in medicine it mostly is related to some aspect of it. And I also love food so it comes as no surprise that I have eaten in almost every of the numerous Indian and French restaurants and bakeries around the town and I know what is best where.
I am a founding member of a local NGO called Helping hearts which aims to help all those communities around Pondicherry by attempting to identify the root cause of their problem and helping to remedy or rectify it. I also work as volunteer in the nearby palliative care center (by volunteer I mean I interact with the patients). I also volunteer at the local orphanage Udavum Karangal where although the children get good food, shelter and education about the only thing they lack in is companionship and I seem to have got attached to them.
After I finish my medical studies I would like to one-day work for doctors without borders. And so I end my first post here. Hopefully you like it. I would really appreciate any comments and suggestions.
