Tatiana's first professional pinup shoot!

Good day, Steemit! It’s dark and rainy here in Minneapolis, and I don’t mind it at all. The weather is comfortable, in the mid 60’s and I’m at @caffetto. This is going to have be one of those administrative days. I have emails to get out to all my Australia clients. Not my favorite part of the job, but I’m less than six weeks from the trip. @tarotbyfergus, @vermillionfox and @guthrie should be here soon. I’ll play Magic: The Gathering, then the rest of the night, it’ll be editing till midnight.

I’ve been so happy with my work rate, lately. I’ve gone on and on about how the ten or so months it took to put together my first art book, Dark Pinup, by @wcpublishing, put me behind. Editing has always been a conveyer belt, moving just slightly too fast for me to keep up with […like the chocolates episode of I Love Lucy!]. Imagine walking away from the conveyer belt for nearly a year, then coming back, trying to pick up where you left off. The last few weeks, though, things have turned the corner.

Last night, I finished the first few edits of a beautiful punk/girl/pinup in Las Vegas named Tatiana. Here’s the catch. She was a client from Viva Las Vegas, meaning this past Viva Las Vegas! I’ve been juggling two overdue clients with one new client, and it’s been working brilliantly. Tatiana was my first shoot during the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend. I drove from LA to Vegas, checked in at The Artisan Hotel, and she arrived ready to shoot.

She confessed that this was her first professional shoot. She was nervous, but I wasn’t worried. I direct a lot during my shoots and have a knack for pose coaching, especially with the weird positions and ideas I come up with. Add my unusual style of diegetic lighting, it just makes more sense to take direction than try coming up with poses on your own. Tatiana took wonderful direction and The Artisan is my favorite place to shoot in Vegas. I know every hall, room and nook.

There is more of Tatiana to come. This is only the first set of edits. I’m relieved to get to these so soon after the shoot itself. I’m hoping this week will give me the opportunity to work on more shoots from the Rockabilly Weekend just a few weeks ago. I also am continuing to post on @caffetto, using @appics for iOS, and ramping up content and updates for @coppercoins @ghostfish and I are doing on our @fundition campaign.
