Quarantine shoot w/ Brody Bombshell!

How’s it going, @hiveio family? I’m getting to the photos earlier than usual tonight. @vermillionfox was off and we had a relaxing day. I took a two hour call with @robrigo and the @eos.detroit team, lining up our blockchain art goals for the rest of August and the following months. I’ve also been sketching, and I finally feel like I’m emerging from a rut. Not because of a lack of inspiration or creativity, but finally facing some weaknesses in my illustration game, like color. All in all, I’m very exciting about the work I’ll be doing in the near future.

I’m back with some more photography, and this time, I’ll be sharing a few images from one of my distance/quarantine shoots. This one was with Brody Bombshell, a midwest pinup that I’d met and shot with ages ago when I first moved to Minnesota. We’ve crossed paths over the years at Viva Las Vegas and a few rockabilly/car events in Wisconsin while I was signing Dark Pinup books for @wcpublishing. When the pandemic hit and all of us artists began scrambling for creative ways to keep working, Brody was one of the first to book a virtual sessions with me.

Ironically, of the few times we’d shot together in Minneapolis, this was probably my favorite. She had a friend assist us during the shoot by holding her phone which was a big help over tripods with other clients. Brody really seemed to be on this particular afternoon and she had a lovely wardrobe selection picked out. The space was colorful and I was able to find some interesting shots with the lamps nearby. I would certainly rank this session high on my list of favorites for the quarantine shoots I’ve done so far.

I’m considering opening my bookings to more of these shoots since it’s clear, we’ve got a long road ahead of us through the rest of the COVID-19 situation. My work with @eos.detroit will be keeping me busy, but one or two sessions during the month of August might be reasonable. We’ll see.
