What’s up, @hiveio! I’m taking a break from trying to reach my minimum word goal on the novel. Absolutely crazy. I’m trying to hit 2,058 words pre day to hit a 50,000 word book by the last day of June. It’s sort of a NaNoWriMo push and a wager @lovejoy and I placed a year ago. It seems impossible to me now. I’ve been sitting in front of my screen for most of the day, but having to constantly take breaks to make lunch, do dishes, watch @guthrie blow up people on Fornite, and even my evening Hive post, really cuts in to the momentum.
Alright, enough of me bitching about the novel. I’m sharing a few photos @vermillionfox and I took last fall with @dartstrife outside of Minneapolis. He’s one of our stable MTG players at @caffetto. A dearly beloved friend and a big manga/anime nerd [like her]. He had this idea to shoot a My Hero Academia cosplay, storyboard fight. He did all the heavy lifting with the costuming likeness. I remembered an amazing location about 40 minutes outside of Minneapolis with mill ruins that would serve as a perfect backdrop.
Everything fell in to place, aside from it being painfully cold that particular day. @dartstrife toughed it out, though. Having @vermillionfox along for this was a big help, actually. Other than a few exceptions, I’m not much of a manga guy. I read a ton of western comics [Batman, Deadpool, Wolverine, etc.], but I can’t get in to manga. Being familiar with My Hero Academia, she was able to help in direction the shots. We even found a stone wall that was collapsing on itself, which was the perfect setting for a brutal damage shot.
