It's PRIDE month!

Good evening, Steemians! I’m at @caffetto […a very active account all of a sudden, and the favorite haunt of many Minneapolis-based Steemit enthusiasts]. It’s been a day. I’ve sort of dreaded this morning for a few weeks. I won’t get in to specifics, but at times, family stuff, although good in the long term, is exhausting in the short term. I’m glad to be at the coffee shop now, with friends. Before leaving the house, I threw together a new Magic: The Gathering BRAWL deck. Looking forward to some recreation, and work tonight.

I have some new photography to share. I’ve been so happy with the amount of editing I’ve been getting to lately. I’ve managed to get three to nine photos finished every day, while still managing to see friends, spend time with family, meeting with creative partners like @ghostfish, and draw for purely therapeutic reasons. Being able to catch up […in relative terms] has removed such a burden of stress from my shoulders. It’s allowing me to enjoy my day to day life. I work more productively, and efficiently.

A client and close friend approached me years ago [literally] about shooting she and her girlfriend together. Portraits, and a few more intimate moments if the mood felt right. We started her on a payment schedule via my Patreon. As the months, and eventually years passed, I alerted my friend that she’d more than paid for her session, and with that, we chose a date. It was February, during the couple’s anniversary, and we’d be shooting at the Rivertown Inn in Stillwater, MN. One of my favorite shoot locations in the world.

Interesting footnote amongst the couple, and myself. We’re all Leos. Even crazier; we were all born on the same day […albeit, several years apart]. Sometimes that multiple Leo energy can get weird. Not during this shoot, though. I directed when I needed to and when I didn’t, I just let these people people explore and appreciate one another. There’s nothing sexier then two people, unapologetically attracted to one another. The timing of finishing these images is during PRIDE month, and I’m so glad they were comfortable with me sharing these.

As the freedoms of many are being eroded, please keep your heart on the struggle that lead millions to having a PRIDE celebration at all.
