Hey, friends! It’s been quite a while since I’ve managed to make two posts in one day. It feels good. It also feels good to do a photography post. It’s been quite some time. So long in fact, it felt a little weird to sit here editing for five or six hours. Unfamiliar. During the unrest in Minneapolis, I didn’t edit at all. I was just too on edge and stressed out. I did a lot of quarantine/distance shoots, but those have been piling up waiting to get edited. Tonight I was determined to get back in to the photo editing mindset and I feel that I achieved that goal.

Tonight, I finished a client from Austin, TX. Singer, song writer and honky tonk pinup, Celine Lee. Celine got in touch with me after seeing my photography with New York model and musician, Kacie Marie. Kacie and I have shot together a few times in New York, and apparently, she and Celine are practically sisters. Before the pandemic really hit hard, I was visiting friends during my first trip to Texas and Celine booked a shoot. I made a reservation with the cutest little vintage trailer and that would be our backdrop for the dark pinup sessions, done cow girl.

Seriously, so much fun! Celine was energetic and excited to explore weird lighting situations within the RV. I’d been on somewhat of a hiatus from shooting, and in addition to her beauty, she had an undeniable charm and charisma. Everything she did looked fun and playful, but with a little direction, she captured a darker, more sultry mood. Film noir, almost. The perfect combination of vibes for a truly diverse shoot. In fact, there was so much range in our session, it looks like we shot together two or three times.

This was the beginning of a transition back to editing. I have a lot of quarantine shoot clients that’ve been patient and I need to get to those photos now that I was able to finish the images I still owed Celine. I’ll sleep well tonight, but tomorrow I’ll be at this desk for a few more long stretches. I’m also working on some really cool projects with eos.detroit@eos.detroit. Art heavy, of course. I can’t wait to share that. midlet@midlet and I are trying to lock down a date for a Hive video podcast, so there’s a lot in the pipeline. Thanks for reading. Have a good night
