So thankful for Hive, honestly. I have a longer, more thoughtful response on recent events coming. dan@dan’s recent resignation assures me that it isn’t just me that’s grateful for our decentralized, free speech platform here. I had conversations recently with lovejoy@lovejoy and mada@mada, working through the complicated occurrences facing our country, and world. I’ve been thinking back to this time last year, applauding the wisdom of foresight of our witnesses that forked us to Hive, and the community that made it all possible. Hive is more relevant than ever.

As I’m sorting my thoughts, I’ve been working. A lot coming through the art department at eos.detroit@eos.detroit. We have some amazing partnerships coming up in the first quarter. My backlog of photography won’t shrink unless I spend some time editing, and that’s what I’m here to share tonight. A few months ago during the fall, I was the guest photographer at a dark pinup photography event at Lovely Organic Studio in uptown Minneapolis. After the riots, and during a raging pandemic, it was so nice to have a chance to shoot.

The photos here are from three of the clients we photographed during the first of the two day event. The studio/salon was a perfect compliment to my style and Farah’s set design was outstanding. Also, since we were shooting during the fall, the ambient light outdoors was soft; a perfect contrast to the warm lamps inside. The models had very little previous shoot experience, but as a work-for-hire photographer, I’ve become a great director. The lack of lighting equipment also tends to alleviate much of the nerves that comes with a studio shoot.

For now, I’m going to wrap this up. I have some illustration to do in bed. I have more coming this week. I just made a big, big stimulus check purchase. I took some profits right before the big correction and invested in myself with some new hardware. I’m going to sit with one of the most comforting nights I’ve had in recent memory. Myself, tarotbyfergus@tarotbyfergus, and vermillionfox@vermillionfox sitting at caffetto@caffetto, playing MTG during the first evening of the reopening. It felt so good, so I’ll end the night appreciating that blessing.
