Australian excursionist in my home studio!

Coming up on midnight, and this is my publishing hour it seems. It’s a good time for me to sit down, reflect on my day and parse the good, the bad, the fun and the irritating. I had a lot of interruptions, and that’s tough while trying to work. A kid that’s been coming in to @caffetto for months has been lugging a Magic: The Gathering deck hoping to play a few games. I did that, and crushed his hopes and dreams. @bryanpolitte came by and he drew on his iPad while I edited these very photos I’m sharing tonight.

I’ve posted work with Christina in my previous posts, “Gothic pinup w/ an Australian traveler!” and, “Minneapolis dark pinup w/ an Australian goth!”. Like many of my Aussie friends, when they visit America, they really visit America. She reached out to me about a shoot, and honestly, I wasn’t sure if it was going to happen. She told me about her travel schedule and it even made me looked lazy. She sent her deposit and said she would fly to me in Minneapolis. The dates changed a couple times, but in June, she did arrive in the Twin Cities to shoot.

There’s something I love about shooting in my home. @vermillionfox and I have been slowly working and collecting furniture and decor for years, turning our space in to a dark Victorian movie set. Christina had done a shoot or two in Australia, but this was her first professional dark pinup shoot. She has a gothic esthetic, which lent perfectly to the rest of our home. 2/3’s of my clients are first time models, and one of my strengths is directing poses. Together, in under two hours, we created some incredible images.

This is the fourth and final set of images I owe Christina, and with this post, I can move her over to the “Completed” side of the task calendar. That is always such an amazing feeling! I just finished a big comic book narrative page for @eos.detroit, and still chipping away at my two novel ideas. @ghostfish and I are coming closer to printing and shipping @coppercoins, so it’s a bit of a creative renaissance for the first few weeks of 2020.
