I love my wife very much. I'm extraordinarily happy that I married her. In fact just under four years ago I proposed to her. My, how time flies.

She is a shockingly intelligent and productive woman. If I had half of the drive that she has naturally, there's no telling what I could do. I strive to be like her in that regard.

That all said, this last week or so has been very odd in terms of communication with her. Yesterday, for example, she was providing me directions to get to the concert where she was performing. Twice she directed me to go left when she meant right. Normally I'd chalk this up to being distracted, but today she was coordinating a meal with friends. She told me what she had planned with her friends, and since she knew I wouldn't be into it, she told me to buy and eat hot dogs instead. I went to the store, and since the hot dogs were only going to be for me, I bought a small, inexpensive package of pork chops instead.

Flash forward to dinner, and it turns out that she meant we'd have the hot dogs alongside of the planned meal, and that she forgot that she was responsible for dessert, too. Fortunately, we had the ingredients for cookies, so I baked a batch of cookies.

Also, the event that triggered this odd week of communication was a trip to McDonald's. She was going out to buy herself lunch and I asked if she'd swing by McDonald's for me. I told her three was a coupon for any sandwich for $1 and to get me a quarter pounder. I gave her the coupon she she went on her way. Well, she forgot to use the coupon, so she spent four times the amount of money for the sandwich than anticipated. I wouldn't have asked for the sandwich if it weren't for the coupon! So the whole point of the meal was missed.

Anyway, this was a weird week of communication with her. But she's been doing a lot, so I think it's understandable to be distracted. I haven't been as busy as her, so I really can't complain. This post isn't to complain, by the way. It's just an anecdote about a strange series of events. I mean, big deal, a few wasted dollars and some wrong directions. If those are the worst things to happen all week, then it has been a good one!
