A colleague of mine at work is on vacation. Meanwhile I have been in the company long enough and I know what to expect.
But that wasn't always the case. I like to think back to when I first had to take part in the work of my colleague.
Before she went on her perhaps deserved vacation, I was encouraged by other colleagues.
That meant that I didn't have to do everything on my own and that they would help me. Already on the first day I had to realize that this is not the case.
The work remains with me. The colleagues are looking for every opportunity to avoid work and prefer to go for a cup of coffee.
At that time I was very busy to do everything and afterwards I fell dead into bed at home.
That was then....
Now I approach the matter in a more relaxed way. I do a few overtime hours and do what I can. What I can't do just stays lying there until I get there and one day I have a holiday too.

Eine Kollegin von mit auf der Arbeit hat Urlaub. Mittlerweile bin ich schon lange genug in dem Unternehmen und ich weiß was auf mich zukommt.
Doch das war nicht immer so. Gerne denke ich daran zurück, als ich zum ersten mal die Arbeit der Kollegin mit machen musste.
Bevor sie in ihren vielleicht auch verdienten Urlaub ging, wurde mir von anderen Kollegen Mut zugesprochen.
Da hieß es, dass ich nicht alles alleine machen muss und sie mir auch helfen werden. Bereits am ersten Tag musste ich festellen, dass dem nicht so ist.
Die Arbeit bleibt an mir hängen. Die Kollegen suchen jede Gelegenheit um sich vor der Arbeit zu drücken und gehen lieber Kaffee trinken.
Damals hatte ich mich sehr angestrengt alles zu schaffen und bin anschließend zu Hause tot ins Bett gefallen.
Das war damals....
Jetzt gehe ich entspannter an die Sache ran. Ich mache ein paar Überstunden und mache was ich schaffe. Was ich nicht schaffe bleibt einfach liegen bis ich dazu komme und eines Tages habe auch ich mal Urlaub.
