Hello, friends! I think that everyone who is somehow connected with plants has come across pests. Usually it is a tick, podura or mealybug. I want to remind you of a story that happened to me. I didn’t have to face such a petty pest.;)
In the summer, my succulents lived on the balcony of an ordinary city apartment, and the height of 6 floors did not stop the insects.
Probably the butterflies came to visit us and left their eggs. A sharp cooling did not allow the butterflies to hatch ... But when, with the onset of cold weather, I brought the plants home to a warm and bright shelving, I began to notice damage on my succulents. Caterpillars hatched and began to absorb plants. When I discovered the first pest on my Sunheon echeveria, she left a pair of leaves from each of the two tops.
Fortunately, the peaks were able to take root and continue to grow, only now I had two plants instead of one. :) Now these plants began to grow, began to actively branch. You can see it in the photo.
Today I planted each plant in my pot so that they do not interfere with each other, I also cut several cuttings so that there are even more beautiful plants!;)
By the way, the caterpillar was not alone, I caught only five. :) The latter was the most unexpected, when I found it, it was already very large. The caterpillar ate the whole echeveria, unfortunately, it was impossible to save it. :) Spring is coming and you may encounter similar situations, especially if you grow your plants on the street. I think preventative treatments in this case are a good option. Also, do not forget to process new plants purchased in stores!;)
