Today, there are different kinds of people we know and associate with. Some introverts, others extroverts. Some of our habits and characters define us, the kind of people we move with and how we grow intellectually, spiritually, mentally and socially.
Some people like their privacy, some people don't even know what privacy is, some like to be alone and some others are afraid of being alone. Sometimes being alone is good. Within your confines, you are able to think and make a few decisions on your own. Other times being lonely is sick and can cause mental discomfort. It's not our faults some of us are lonely or find it hard to express ourselves. In fact a higher percent of introverts are dealing with self esteem issues that do not allow them express themselves and the feeling of inadequacy comes in, thus making them less eager to want to be with people. Some other people have been abused and hurt and feel no one can share in, or understand their pain and so they make themselves scarce.
Truth is, personally I have been alone, when surrounded by friends...that was what I felt. I mean I had friends who were there and cared but I found it hard to communicate. I practically locked myself up. Even married people feel lonely at times because their significant other isn't giving them listening ears or comforting hugs and showing emotions they want to see.
First of all, we create the impression in our heads that nobody cares and then we lock ourselves up, build our walls and isolate ourselves from people. Are we really protecting ourselves? Is it really helping us? The answer is no. God gave Adam, Eve so that he would not be lonely.
HOW DO WE THEN HANDLE LONELINESS?
Erase the initial thought that nobody cares because that is not true. You are probably pushing those that care away.
Deal with self esteem issues. Nobody can ever and will ever be like you. Unique you are and will always be. You are the best of your kind and no one can replace you. Love yourself and have no reason to feel inadequate. Most people judge themselves when there is actually no reason to.
Build your communicative skills. There is no reason to lock yourself up away from the sunshine and fun waiting out there. Go out and meet new people. Find people who share similar traits and characters as you, who likes what you like. You can decide to ask a friend out on a date. Do not lower your standards because you're desperate, just be bold enough to air out your views{not offensively though}
4.I know this sounds silly, but showing concern for others will draw more attention to you. They will want to also help solve whatever problem you have, it goes vice-versa.
